My Early Retirement
67First and foremost, what is the difference between “Retirement and Early Retirement?”
Based from my research it is define as follows:
“Retirement is the point where a person stops employment completely while early retirement can be at any age, but is generally before the age (or tenure) needed for eligibility for support and funds from government or employer-provided sources”
According to wiki “Many people choose to retire when they are eligible for private or public pension benefits, although some are forced to retire when physical conditions don't allow the person to work anymore (by illness or accident) or as a result of legislation concerning their position”….
As for me, I opted to “retire early” not because of any reasons above or common reasons of retirement. But it is because my circumstances had changed from the time I left my last job.
I am a graduate of BSc Psychology. I was employed in different industries, business establishments and educational institutions during my younger years. I like my profession very much and having a career in Human Resources at those times was the most challenging experienced.
However, I decided to join my partner here in the UK and thought that I had enough of working and serving employers for their own business & profits; and for some “slave driver” employers. I do not want to elaborate, but we all know how it is when being employed.
Now that I am into
my early retirement, I enjoy every bit of my time doing the things I want and
had missed when I was employed. I like travelling and exploring new
places. When I am at home, I love to do home chores, cooking and
gardening. Hence, my hobbies and skills are more enhanced. I also get the chance to do some tasks online
where I earn a bit of money which is fun!
It is nice to do things without any pressure and doing it at your own pace with
enjoyment and peace.
