My Memorable Birthday
67In Isle of Wight - Carisbrooke Castle
It’s been sometime I wasn’t able to write any articles
here in hubpages. What prompted me to
write something today is to share with you one of my most memorable birthday celebration
in an island. It is something different,
because I used to celebrate my birthday way back in my country with a party
treat for my family, relatives, friends and workmates. Then, when I came to UK, I also used to
celebrate my birthday with a Spectacular Bonfire Night in Lewes, East Sussex
as you can see from one of my hubs "The Bonfire Night"
But this time of the year, I did something different. I went to a place, a “get-to” where I can celebrate it with my partner in a different ambiance. It is an English Island called the Isle of Wight. It is located 3-5 miles (5–8 km) from the south coast of the mainland, in the English Channel. It is separated from mainland England by the Solent and is situated south of the county of Hampshire. The island is known for its outstanding natural beauty. The Isle of Wight has also been popular since the Victorian Times as a holiday destination.
There are several nice places on the island if you choose to stay for a couple of days or a week to explore it. As for me and my partner, we only stayed there for three days. On my birthday, we went to see the Carisbrooke Castle, one of the tourist spots of the island. Then on the other days, we just drove around the island and passed through all those towns and cities in it (as shown in the map). The first day, we explored the north-west side of it then on the next day, we also explored the south-east side of the island. Though, we were lucky to have a good weather and get the chance to take photos.
We stayed in a bed and breakfast accommodation where the food was excellent! Our bedroom was comfortable and spacious with an en-suite toilet and bath. On the night of my birthday, I had a nice dinner treat from my partner where we stayed. The dining area was just perfect for a cozy candlelight dinner for the two of us and I enjoyed it!
This short out of town trip was one of the loveliest present from my partner that I treasure and will never forget!
